The Financial Service Consultant is responsible for producing additional revenue for the dealership by selling finance and aftermarket programs to new and used vehicle guests.
A high school diploma or equivalent;
Top producer in the Sales Department;
A minimum of two (3) years sales experience; automotive finance experience preferred;
Organize and work independently on multiple deals and complete within specified deadlines.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records;
Knowledge of mathematical concepts (such as adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentages) and their application; vehicle leasing concepts; equity values and depreciation; and laws that govern retail automotive sales;
Ability to coordinate activities with other employees; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; learn and understand the federal, state, and local laws which govern retain auto sales; work well with the public; communicate in a professional manner on the phone, internet and in person; and use standard office equipment;
Must have a valid sales driver's license and maintain an acceptable and safe driving record.
Provides guest with thorough explanation of aftermarket products and extended Service Contracts.
Provides guests with complete explanation of manufacturer and dealership service procedures and policies.
Submits paperwork to and obtains approval from finance sources on all finance deals in a timely manner.
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with several finance sources including manufacturer.
Verifies insurance and obtains payoffs on trades with open liens.
Process federal, state, and dealer paperwork related to vehicle transaction.
Checks all paperwork for correct residual, commission, buy rate, title, lien information, taxes and DMV paperwork before forwarding to the business office.
Follows through with contract discrepancies to ensure payment of loan.
Assists sales persons in collecting down payment and all monies in.
Seeks new lending institutions to secure competitive interest rates and finance programs continually.
Enters individual deals in sold log and ensures deals are recorded promptly and correctly.
Ensures deals are submitted to Business Office in a timely manner.
Meets monthly sales and guest satisfaction objectives set by management.
Answers phones and assists guest with any routine and non-routine questions.
Performs other administrative duties, as assigned by management.
Assists in all other areas of the finance department, as needed.
Creates and maintains good relations with guests.
Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
