Summary:
The position of Program Manager involves overseeing the successful execution of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and technical specifications.
This role serves as the primary point of contact for client interactions during project reviews, covering aspects such as cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Responsibilities also include coordinating proposal development, business plans, statement of work (SOW), specifications, financial planning, and contract terms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will strategize all project activities, encompassing detailed task breakdown, project schedules, resource allocation, financial planning, and contractual obligations.
This role will utilize various program management techniques and tools to meet both internal and client expectations for cost, schedule, and performance.
Proficiency in productivity software such as MS Project and MS Office is required, along with familiarity in Earned Value Management (EVM) and relevant standards.
The Program Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership, delegating tasks, outlining project scopes, schedules, milestones, and team member roles.
This position involves preparing regular written and verbal reports to management concerning cost and schedule variances.
Additionally, the role includes risk assessment and mitigation planning, continuous program evaluation, and the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
The Program Manager will monitor program schedules, organize program reviews, technical meetings, and design assessments, and create compelling presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Regular monthly updates on Estimates to Complete (ETCs) and Earned Value (EV) will be required for major programs (those exceeding $100k).
Internal reviews with management for significant programs are also expected.
This position will require close collaboration with various departments, including Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Sales & Marketing.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in program management, demonstrating proficiency in developing comprehensive program plans, master schedules with critical path analysis, work breakdown structures, budget preparation, and program cost analysis (preferably using Earned Value Management techniques).
Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, are crucial for effective interaction with all management levels.
A solid understanding of Finance, Operations, and Contracts, as well as working knowledge of Government contracts and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), is highly beneficial.
Proficiency in commonly used MS software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project is required.
Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance, along with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in program management within an aerospace or similar environment.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
