00 HourlyDescriptionSUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Payroll Assistant is responsible for supporting the Payroll Team with processing the company's payrolls ensuring federal, state and local laws are complied with.
Responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid for hours worked in a semi-monthly and biweekly basis.
Also responsible for maintaining the department's infrastructure, executing Company policies and procedures, as well as roles in assigned areas such as benefits administration, internal communication, audit compliance, events, employee engagement, and training.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS:
oReinforce Fulgent policies and rules.
oMaintain up to date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
oAudit payroll information to ensure accuracy and compliance with Company Policy, Federal and State wage and hours laws.
oUnder management supervision will assist with the reconciliation of Health Benefit deductions for each payroll on a semi-monthly and bi-weekly basis.
oRespond to manager and employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner and with professionalism.
oResolve past payroll discrepancies as needed.
oAssist with processing payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
oEnsures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
oGathering all necessary payroll supporting documents for payroll review.
oWorks closely with managers to communicate when time off requests, punch change requests, timecards or PAF's need revision and approval.
oEntering and updating payroll data in Paycom.
oAssist in ensuring that all discrepancies are resolved before payroll is submitted for approval.
oUnder management supervision will work on final check calculations for terminated employees in accordance with State Laws.
oPerforms other duties as assigned.

QualificationsKNOWLEDGE /
Experience:
oAssociate degree with Experience or bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field of studies.
o1-2 years of administration experience required.
oBasic knowledge of basic Labor Regulations, HIPAA compliance requirements, Wage & Hour law.
oExperience with HRIS and Payroll systems.
SKILLS:
oPersonal computer skills:
Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookoTyping ability (50+wpm preferred).
oWrite well with correct grammar and spelling.
oCommunicate with confidence and clarity.
oFollow instructions and compliance requirements.
oExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
