Position
Summary:
We are looking for full-time skilled and self-motivated developers for Bioinformatics Integration Department.
The candidates should have demonstrated knowledge and interest in Bioinformatics, Data Engineering and Software Development.
These individuals will architect, implement, and support the following:
data pipelines, database management, analysis tools, and user interfaces for large-scale bioinformatics software solutions.
Responsibilities:
Architect, develop, test, maintain Bioinformatics Pipeline Systems.
Research and develop new algorithms, programs to support and improve Bioinformatics system efficiency.
Data management, data maintenance and database administration.
Identify, design, and implement process improvements:
automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalabilities.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
Support business operations, processing, and exceptions.
Database design, analysis, implementation, and support.
System administration and maintenance.
QualificationsRequired:
A Bachelors Degree with a major in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Python, Bash Scripts Knowledge of Database, SQL.
Knowledge of GIT Source Control, Windows, and Linux Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests Understanding of Requirements Analysis Strong written and verbal communication skills Nice To Haves:
Deep understanding of Programming Languages, Algorithms, and Data Analysis.
Understanding of Bioinformatics, Genetics, Biology.
Experience with software design, implementation, and deployment of enterprise application software.
Enjoy working in a highly collaborative and fast-pace environment on high-impact, open source software development.
Prior experience in health informatics is a plus.
Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS).
Experience with BWA, R, Picard, and GATK and other Bioinformatics tools.
Experience with Scala, AWS, NoSql, Statistics, big data, Apache Spark.
Experience with Java RESTful services, JavaScript, and XML; user and design documentation to support open-source products.
